Make your Easter sweeter with this Irresistible Cinnamon French Toast. The recipe couldn’t be any easier, requiring only 6 ingredients.
- 6 bread slices (use your favourite fread)
- 3/4 cup (200ml) milk
- 2 eggs + 1 egg white
- 2 tsp brown sugar or any sweetener
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 banana sliced
- 8 pecans
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp natural yogurt (optional)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 4 strawberries chopped
- 1/3 cup blueberries
Beat the eggs in a bowl.
Add the milk, sugar, cinnamon, ginger and stir.
Dip the slices of bread into the batter and let it rest for 5 seconds on each side, using your fingers to make sure it absorbs the liquid.
Heat a non-stick pan with 3 Tbsp of sunflower or coconut oil. When it is hot add the toast and cook every slide for 3-4' on each side or until golden brown. Flip carefully with a spatula.If your French toast burns too quickly reduce the heat.
Get your toppings ready and serve immediately.
Place fruit, water, sugar and lemon juice in a small saucepan and cook over a medium heat for 10'. Reduce heat slightly if the water starts to evaporate too quickly and use a wooden spoon to mix the fruit. Remove from the heat. Use immediately or store in a clean jar for a few days.
