I know I’m a granola addict, I can’t encourage you enough to make this Quinoa Granola Recipe. It is simple, delicious and most importantly much healthier than granola you buy in the shop. For me, there is no better breakfast than a huge bowl of homemade granola, even when I go on holidays I miss eating it. I have a long list of granola recipes to share on the blog but this Crunchy Quinoa Granola with pecans was so good that I pushed it up the list.
As you can see in the Granola section I use all kinds of whole grains to make granola recipes: oats, buckwheat, millet, quinoa… Today we are going to use quinoa, this is one of my favourites super foods and it is very crunchy when you bake it. Did you know that quinoa is a great source of complete protein? it is also a gluten-free grain. If you are allergic to gluten, use gluten-free oats, that’s the only thing you need to change in this recipe.
Tomorrow, I want you to buy quinoa to make this crunchy granola. It is sweet, tasty and crispy; you won’t be able to stop eating it. I like to use coconut milk, sliced banana and a few blueberries in my Quinoa Granola, it tastes amazing. I also eat it with yogurt, in fact, I usually bring a small jar of granola to the office for a tasty snack or for dessert.
You can find other granola recipes under Homemade Granola, they are all delicious and they take less than 20′. I hope you enjoy today’s Crunchy Quinoa Granola and I hope you bake many more branolas!
I look forward to your comments. Let me know what you think and tag your photo #shoothecook so I can see it. Have sweet day!

Crunchy Quinoa Granola, another delicious homemade granola recipe. One of the crunchiest granola recipes I have made so far, I love it.
- 1 1/3 (140g) oats
- 1/2 cup (130g) quinoa
- 1/2 cup (50g) pumpkin seeds
- 1/2 cup (75g) pecans
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup (120g) honey
- 4 Tbsp dark chocolate chips (optional)
- 1 small banana
- 1 handful of blueberries
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, stir the oats, quinoa, pecans, pumpkin seeds and cinnamon together.
Add the honey and stir until well-combined.
Pour the granola onto the baking sheet and bake at 180º for 20' or until golden brown, after 10' open the oven to stir the granola so it browns all the way through.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container. It lasts up to 2 weeks but I always eat it within days!
*If you like sweet things add a full cup of honey instead of 1/2 cup.
*If you don't have pecans, walnuts will do it.
*If you don't have pumpkin seeds you can substitute them for sunflower seeds or leave them out.
*If you're a vegan, substitute honey for maple or rice syrup, the granola becomes even sweeter.
Gorgeous photos! I’ve been eating quinoa for breakfast this week so your recipe jumped out at me. I might have to give it a try
