Spinach is among the healthiest vegetables while apples health benefits are also amazing. As that old saying goes ‘an apple a day keep the doctor away’, so today’s Spinach Apple Smoothie couldn’t be better.
I finally bought a more powerful blender and from now on it is going to be quite busy in the mornings! Until now I was making more fruity smoothies because my old blender wasn’t great with vegetables but now there is no excuses not to make vegetable based smoothies. Last week I tried a lot of green smoothies and I ended up being addicted to this one: Spinach-Apple Smoothie. It’s a sweet and soft spinach smoothie, perfect for green smoothie beginners. This spinach based smoothie is loaded with vitamins and minerals. It tastes really good and also after a big glass you feel full.
I was a bit sceptical about making green smoothies, I thought it was impossible for them to taste good but I was completely wrong, many of them are delicious. The trick about vegetable smoothies is to find the balance between the ingredients. I recommend that you start by combining vegetables and fruits, once you are used to the taste you can add more veggies into your blender and add less fruits. I think green smoothies help to hydratate and detox our body but there’s no point in drinking something we don’t like so I always look for a balance in taste and texture when developing these recipes.
This recipe is simple, requiring 5 ingredients, 5 minutes & 1 blender. Drink it cold just after making it so you get all the vitamins from it. I love it in the morning or after work to refresh myself before blogging in the evening.
The last ingredients are the most important on the list: lemon juice and honey. You can adjust the amount used to your own taste but don’t forget to add them. They give this Spinach Apple Smoothie a sweet but citrusy taste.
This smoothie can perfectly become a Smoothie Bowl with apple chunks and a sprinkle of our Homemade Granola with 4 Ingredients.
